Sand Ceremony

A Look at Sand Ceremonies

The purpose of the sand ceremony is to symbolise the commitment of each contributor to the couple's relationship, it's success and fulfillment. The sand ceremony involves several family members, guests or friends and several glass containers.

A large glass container is placed in the centre of a room or table, and it is filled with coloured sands from smaller containers. Each contributing member, will add increments of sand to the central container, as a symbol of their commitment to the couple's relationship.

Once the central container is full, the couple will keep the sand forever, placing it in their house as a constant reminder of everyone's (including their), commitment to the prosperity of the relationship.
