A Look at Commitment Ceremony
Rituals are a symbolic metaphor for unity, love, commitment and
a new beginning. They are often performed during commitment ceremonies,
and take place after the exchanging of commitment vows.
The type of ritual to be performed is at the discretion of the
couple exchanging vows, and needs to be planned in detail prior
to the ceremony. There also may be a financial expense, depending
on the type of ritual to be performed.
The other consideration when performing a ritual, is seeking
the relevant permission from the venue, council or authority where
the ceremony is to be held. The reason for this is that some rituals
may incorporate smoke, water or other materials that may pose
a health or safety risk.
